Understanding biomass furnaces with virtual models

Using advanced computer simulations to improve biomass furnaces and make them more efficient and reliable.

Challenge: It is difficult to accurately assess the condition of a biomass furnace through physical measurements due to limited access to the tightly packed biomass and the harsh environment it operates in.

Solution: By creating a digital twin, a virtual replica of the furnace, engineers can explore the inner workings of biomass conversion. This technology helps design better furnaces, optimize operating conditions, increase output, and reduce costs. Additionally, it enables predicting and responding to critical safety events, contributing to a more resource-efficient Europe and ensuring reliable production processes.
